
Quantock Walking Festival 2017
Last weekend 10th & 11th June saw an inundation of walkers in and around the Stoweys with rucksacks and walking poles. The event was the second Quantock Walking Festival run by Sedgemoor Ramblers, assisted this year by Stowey Walking. Over the weekend nine guided walks of varying lengths took place, all setting out from the Nether Stowey Church Centre. Walking with the University of the Third Age (U3A) Bridgwater Branch
As the name suggests this is a walking group made up largely of people aged 60 and over with one or two in their 80s. There are three objectives of the group namely to keep fit, to mix with people of like mind and to enjoy country and coastal walks in the surrounding area and sometimes a bit further afield.
